Cups are Low Priority Anyway

Harrow Hive 8 GPR 2

Another cup, another tactical masterclass in deciding to prioritise the league. Not much to cheer about on this one, but we will be in the running for most improved team of the year at the pace we’re setting. Journeyman Allen made it 2 from 2, before midfield maestro Cal scored a free kick from the half-way line, meaning we will make an appearance at the Puskas awards.

Other awards are always up for grabs though, and our number 9 Arthur finished a proud runner-up for DOTD after turning up still very much on the pints. Strong performances from Jack and a brief cameo from Rory in the defence proved to us that there’s quality in the team, but when going up against teams that know each other far better than we do, it’s going to take time. With that said, Harrow were excellent, best of luck for the season.

Huge effort from a few of the lads who can’t get enough of away days despite nursing injuries - a much needed reminder that GPR is as much about the fans as it is about the badge. Trust the process lads, we’re looking better every week, just gotta work hard to make the results come.

MOTM 🏆 = Sean looked solid and assured at RB and nullified a lot of their threat down the flank. Honourable mention for Jack too.

DOTD 💩 = Joe’s decision to prioritise watching Fulham get hammered by VAR against West Ham has cost him dear here - we will get revenge at the Christmas party, assuming you actually turn up of course…
